Who may wish to take the course
Trained Therapeutic Professionals
The Pesso Boyden Training Programme is for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to develop and practice as a Pesso Boyden therapist or to integrate the Pesso Boyden method into their therapeutic approach when working one-to-one or in group therapy sessions.
Non Therapeutic Professionals
Training is also open to other ‘people’ professions, such as teachers or coaches who, while not therapeutically trained, might find that the Pesso Boyden approach enhances their attunement skills, which are central to successful outcomes with students and clients.
The programme comprises of a series of three day modules that run over a three year period.
The course is designed so that it can be incorporated into your full time work, allowing you time to build on your knowledge and engage in private home study between each 3 day module.
Each year consists of 9 days of formal training, plus 3 self-organised intervision group practice days, along with individual study and practice.
Much of the teaching is in the form of ‘live supervision’ and demonstrations, interspersed with formal lectures.
Trainees are required to undertake a personal therapy commitment of no less than three structures per year outside of the training programme.
Stage 1: Foundation
Stage 1 runs over the initial 12 month period. It can be taken as a stand-alone course for those interested in exploring basic level PBSP. For more details of Stage 1: Foundation curriculum.
Stage 2: Completion of full training
Stage 2 runs over a 24 month period following the successful completion of Stage 1. This second stage leads to full practitioner status. For details of Stage 2: Completion of full training curriculum.
