Pesso Boyden Training Course
Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) is a body-mind approach to human psychological development.
PBSP brings together psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and systems-oriented principles along with client-centred attitudes in one integrated philosophy.

Who may wish to take the course
Trained therapeutic professionals
The Pesso Boyden Training Programme is for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to develop and practice as a Pesso Boyden therapist or to integrate the Pesso Boyden method into their therapeutic approach when working one-to-one or in group therapy sessions.
Non-therapeutically trained professionals
Training is also open to other ‘people professions’, such as teachers or coaches who might find that the Pesso Boyden approach enhances their attunement skills, which are central to successful outcomes with students and clients. People not trained as psychotherapists or counsellors typically will take the foundation year as a stand alone course.
Programme overview
The programme comprises a mixture of online and face to face modules that extend over a three year period.
The course is designed so that it can be incorporated into your full time work, allowing you time to build on your knowledge and engage in private home study between each module.
Each year consists of 10 days of formal training, plus 3 self-organised intervision group practice days (peer learning), along with individual study and practice.
Much of the teaching is in the form of ‘live supervision’ and demonstrations, interspersed with formal lectures.
Trainees are required to undertake a personal therapy commitment of no less than three structures per year outside of the training programme.
Foundation Training
This runs over approximately 6 months. It can be taken as a stand-alone course for those interested in exploring basic level PBSP. For more details of the Foundation curriculum.
Full Training
This runs over approximately 16 months following successful completion of Foundation Training. Completion of Full Training leads to Pesso Boyden practitioner status. For more details of Full Training curriculum.
